Designed by the designer of Australia`s Americas Cup winning winged keel, the Lexcen 40 is one of Ben`s best boat designs with many enduring characteristics. GRP Balsa core constructed in 1986, she is powered by the formidable Perkins 4108 which has only done 30 hours since a 2012 rebuild. She has 3 double and 1 X single berths and an almost house size galley, holding a two burner top, oven and 850 watt microwave. Reverse cycle air conditioning is also fitted to make life comfortable in the tropics. Refrigeration is by Waeco 12v and 65lts capacity. Extra power is generated by an Air breeze wind gen and Plasmatronics solar panels. Electronics are Navman, plotter is a 8084 and pilot a 3100. There is a Navman 2 KW Radar as well (needs Software) There is a Honda 2kva genset and a 600 watt inverter fitted. The batteries are looked after by the Xantrax 40 amp charger. Safety list is good with 6 PFDs, an 8 man RFD, coastal and offshore flares, and other assorted equipment. Ground tackle is a Manson 45 llb and a Bruce 45. 86 m of 10 chain holds it all in place.
